Snap on Mirror was a response to a brief set by NCR which was also a national competition. It placed 3rd overall.
Fitting rooms are the main advantage of the high street over internet shopping. They give customers the chance to feel the item and try it on, on their body, with the clothes they normally wear. However, fitting rooms have some issues. The main ones being: high security risk, lack of available staff and inability to get a valuable opinion of the tried clothes.
'The Snap-on Mirror' provides the customer with a visualisation of an item of clothing on them as if they were wearing it. Customers do not need to undress, meaning fitting 'areas' with these mirrors will be unisex, allowing friends and families of the customer to come and give their opinions of the item. Fitting 'areas' will no longer need to be enclosed spaces but will be open planned allowing for better security and encourage groups to enter. This allows for a more pleasurable trying-on experience, in which customers can get the opinions they truly value.
